- ABOUT US
The tiny town of Fletcher is actually within the Henderson County line, but closely acquainted with the southern fringes of Asheville. The town’s roots are based in hospitality, as Dr. Fletcher opened a refuge to weary travelers along what is now US-25, the highway connecting Asheville and Hendersonville.
Now that horse and carriage are no longer the main modes of transportation, this thoroughfare provides access to the two downtowns in about twenty-five minutes, and to the commercial district of South Asheville in a ten-minute drive.
"Towards Hendersonville and out Cane Creek Road, the roads (and the sky) open up into a more rural atmosphere amidst the subtly rolling flats of the valley.
This town unites urban and rural in public spaces as well as the roads, most notably in its gorgeous and well-maintained parks. Fletcher Community Park includes over sixty acres of walking trails, sports fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, gardens, and a disc golf course.
Kate’s Park hosts family gatherings at its pavilion, playgrounds, and along its walking trails.
The town’s leadership in spatial planning is not limited to the public sphere, however. Fletcher is forward thinking in its residential development as well, as noted by the peaceful neighborhoods woven throughout the six-mile township.
Whether you are looking at Fletcher’s newer luxury homes for sale or traditional, older homes, you will find a similar community-oriented layout: quiet, tucked away suburban nooks along tree-lined streets; and easy access to community and natural space.
